ZombiU Review – For the Wii U

Gadget Reviewer Gaming News
There is some weird roll of the tongue whenever you say some game titles built for the Wii U, and the same can be said about ZombiU. But enough about the name of the game, it is originally designed as a fast-paced shooter with a quirky script which is all set in an alien invasion type of setting. However, Ubisoft's Wii U launch morphed it into a well-paced, but slower, zombie adventure that is set in modern London. This is one of the console's titles that makes full use of its gamepad as an integrated gaming accessory as there are some games that use said game controller as just a smaller screen. ZombiU Has Proper Zombie Apocalyptic Tension When Ubisoft designed ZombiU, they approached the game with a sensible gaming formula. This formula is made to introduce a band of relatively unique elements of the Wii U gamepad and then present them in the premise of a very accessible and appealing game set in an era where zombies have already taken over the world. Hence, Ubisoft, who is no longer a stranger to third-party titles, has already stepped up their game to deliver one of the most worthwhile titles to get for the Wii U. The game's environments are as they should be - dark and desolate. There are urban areas that seem to have no life in them, so to speak. This is hardly original when you think about the dozens of zombie outbreak games out there. What sets ZombiU (Wii U) apart from the rest is makes use of a guitar-driven score which can make you wonder if the game's primary influence was from the movie 28 Days Later. This game is played in a first-person point-of-view as it can be efficient to approach zombies with this kind of view. Players will have their go-to melee weapon to make use of throughout many parts of the game. This melee weapon, by the way, is the English-setting appropriate cricket bat. Although it is durable, it is not the easiest weapon to wield in the game. There are firearms scattered across the game but they are limited. So this is a zombie game wherein you don't have to kill everything on sight. Perhaps it can be wise to just avoid some zombies altogether and just press along accordingly. ZombiU is recognized as one of those rare titles that do not have the classic retorts from the gaming community as being rushed. This is a heavily thought out game which has been planned out carefully. While the melee combat system is a bit rough, it is compensated by other tools and elements found in various parts of the game. Furthermore, the full integration of the Wii U's gamepad makes this a special kind of suspense-thriller videogame that you can't get in other zombie games in the market.
