Apple has recently announced that the Apple News App lets just about anyone publish content to the clipboard-like application.  It has already been months since the firm launched the app and now they are ready to let more than just some chosen major publishers to use the platform for the purpose of distributing media. Now, even bloggers can use the app to publish their very own content.

Apple News App – Now Open to All

Practically Anyone Now Can Use the Apple News App to Publish Content

Until recently, the Apple News App, which is a part of the iOS 9 update, along with its custom publishing tool which is entitled as Apple News Format, has only been limited to 100 publishing partners. There are very known names in said that list such as Conde Nast, Bloomberg, CNN, and New York Times.

The tech giant is now opening the format towards any publisher, but it should still be noted that content being published using the platform will be pending approval before they go live. Those who are interested in publishing using the News App will get to take advantage of additional metrics to which Apple provides. Said metrics focuses on user engagement, which is great for those who are closely following how their content is doing across the World Wide Web.

Apple has a plan to use this particular app to deliver news and content to a wider range of audience. This will also allow aspiring writers and publishers to get their content out more, which is very helpful especially to those who are off to a shaky start.

While the app deems a lot of promise towards publishers, and even to readers, the application is not as seamless as you might think. In a report back in January of this year, a Wall Street Journal report had stated that there is a bug in the system which left publishers, and even Apple, in the dark pertaining to the specific number of readers.

Smaller publishers are able to publish their content using the app by way of RSS feeds, however doing so will not take advantage of letting the app read metrics pertaining to the content being published by such a method.

Apple had also something to say with regards to the Apple News App as they have stated, “With Apple News Format, you can create signature content for News. Beautiful typography, rich photo galleries, videos, and fun animations bring your articles to life. You can author once, and News will optimize your content for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, so your readers will have a great experience no matter which device they’re using.”
