To create the piloted R8 concept Audi geared the car with an autonomous driving suite. There is a so-called central computer that stimulates an accurate image of the car’s current environment to give the car the capability to decide even if there’s no human presence. The information processed by the central computer is from a newly innovated laser scanner, video cameras, the ultrasonic sensors and from the radar sensors which will be sent to the central driver assistance control unit (zFAS).
