Tekken 7: Fated Retribution has been highly anticipated by many as it is the update to the Tekken 7 line. It was not too long ago when it was announced, and there are many, if not all who are surprised with the latest addition to the character lineup – Akuma. Also known as Gouki, he was officially included along with the returning characters of the 7th installment to the fighting game. Perhaps since the dawn of when the cross-over game, Street Fighter x Tekken, came into existence, many wonder what is the actual deal between Capcom and Bandai-Namco.
The Inclusion of Akuma in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution Produces Mixed Feelings
As per N4BB, fans that are awaiting for the release of Tekken 7: Fated Retribution were actually perplexed as to why Akuma (or Gouki) is included in the character roster. Speculations have already risen as this could be a preparation for the upcoming Tekken x Street Fighter cross-over that has been talked about by both Capcom and Bandai-Namco for quite some time now. However, the purpose of including Akuma is yet to be further disclosed.
There are already some videos pertaining to the reveal of the character in the update to the Tekken 7 game. It would seem that Akuma is indebted to Kazumi Mishima as he says that he will one day repay his debt. What that debt is will only be known once the game is released.
However, this back-story does stir some controversy with regards to the masses. It was not clear to some fans if Kazumi was the source of the power that Akuma has obtained, or if it were something else entirely. Nonetheless, both gaming companies have already disclosed that Akuma will be the only Street Fighter character to grace into the world of Tekken that is part of the story, and not as a non-canon title like the crossover games such as Tekken x Street Fighter or Street Fighter x Tekken.
It has been revealed that the arcade version of the game will soon be launched sometime in July of this year. However, fans of the game will have to wait further for the console versions. There are rumors that the release date for the console version will somehow fall within the late 2016 or in the early 2017.
Tekken 7: Fated Retribution brings a whole new batch of updates and fixes with regards to its predecessor. For instance, there is the Rage Attack system that has already been included within the gameplay.
