There are few JRPG titles that get those in the West at the edge of their seats in anticipation as to when the game will be released, and one of those videogames is Star Ocean 5. Integrity and Faithlessness is the 5th installment to one of tri-Ace’s hit role-playing games. It just made its debut last month in its home turf, and not it is revealed that North American gamers will be able to try the game out for themselves by the end of June 2016.
Star Ocean 5 Launches by the End of June of This Year
More specifically speaking, Star Ocean 5 will be released on June 28, 2016 in North America, and it will be available for the PlayStation 4. Aside from the standard purchase of buying the game alone, publisher Square Enix also revealed that they will have two versions two which gamers can take advantage of. One is a Day One Edition, and the other is a Collector’s Edition. The former option will be available at participating retailers, whereas the latter will only be available as an exclusive purchase over at the Square Enix Online Store.
The Day One Edition of Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness is priced at $59.99, and the package will include two background battle music themes in which players will be able to change by going to the in-game settings menu. What’s surprising is that these background music is not from the Star Ocean series, but rather two of other popular RPGs from tri-Ace which are “Valkyrie Profile” and “Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria.” The Day One package also include a download code for in-game items which are The Ring of the Valkyries, Gold Bunny Statue, Wristlet of the Stars, Secret Sthalian Tome, and Bushybume Cincture.
As for the Collector’s Edition for the game, it can be purchased over at the Square Enix Online store for $109.99, and it will include both physical and digital goodies to those who will purchase this option. Along with the steelbook case for the game, it will also come with “The Sounds of Star Ocean,” which is a 16-track CD sampler soundtrack from the game’s composer, Motoi Sakuraba. Along with the CD soundtrack, there’s also “The Art of Star Ocean,” wherein it is an 80-page hardcover art book that features art from the game series. It will also include eight exclusive art cards.
The Collector’s Edition for Star Ocean 5 also comes with the option to change the battle BGMs for the game, but instead of just two it will now be six. This package will also have the download code that can be found in the Day One Edition to get the aforementioned in-game items.
