Fans Will be Able to Enjoy Ghostbusters 1 and 2 in 4K Ultra HD Resolution

Aside from being classic movies, both Ghostbusters films are actually the first of Sony’s 4K Ultra HD disc releases. Both of these films were originally stored within 35-millimeter camera negatives. Using 4K UHD resolution technology, the movies will now have better visuals along with better audio to give them the complete package.

With the utilization of 4K Ultra HD technology, it becomes the perfect way to finally experience the comprehensive restoration of the Ghostbusters 1 and 2 movies and enjoy watching them with friends and family right at your own living room. It will now feature four times the resolution of high definition, and High Dynamic Range (HDR) has been introduced into the mix to provide great highlights, perfectly saturated colors, and a better contrast. Of course, this type of experience can only be experienced towards compatible displays. Hence, if you don’t have a 4K compatible TV, or one that does not support HDR playback, then you might just get a full HD resolution experience rather than the full packaged deal.

In addition to the better visuals, both of these films will have their soundtrack remixed for the home theater environment using the Dolby Atmos audio. This thereby delivers a more captivating sound which places and moves the audio anywhere in the room. In other words, it creates for a more immersive experience so you can feel the intensity of the giant marshmallow man’s footsteps as it rampages across the city.

These new 4K Ultra HD releases will be just right before the July 15 premiere of the new Ghostbusters  motion picture film which stars Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, and Chris Hemsworth. The new film will be directed by Paul Feig and it is produced by Sony Pictures. Furthermore, to further boost the hype, Sony will release over 50 episodes of the 1980s animated series on DVD at the same date as the 4K Ultra HD releases.
