Nvidia recently released a new Game Ready driver for its GeForce graphics chips. Installing the new driver will set PC gamers up for Batlleborn, the Gearbox Software’s MOBA-style first-person shooter, which will launch on Tuesday. The patch focuses on performance enhancements for other betas which includes Epic Games’ Paragon, Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, and Blizzard’s Overwatch.
New Nvidia Driver Sets up Graphics Cards for Upcoming Betas
The new Nvidia GeForce Game Ready WHQL driver launches as version 365.10, and this can be downloaded by simply opening up the GeForce Experience application then clicking on the “Drivers” tab. At the time of writing, the patch notes are not available so it is not quite sure what the details are pertaining to what the suite adds or fixes with this new release.
However, according to an Nvidia GeForce blog post, the new driver will be able to provide the best possible frame rates and frame times during multiplayer matches in Battleborn. The game is that of a “hero shooter” which will pit teams of players in battling it out against each other in online matches. Players are also able to take advantage of the single-player campaign cooperatively with friends. For Nvidia-powered PC gamers, they will need to have at least a GeForce GTX 460 graphics card to play this shooter. However, the GeForce GTX 660 card is highly recommended to play Battleborn and to make full use of the new suite.
When it comes to playing Overwatch, Blizzard’s new team-based shooter, the new driver will not optimize the overall gaming experience, but it will also allow players to turn on SLI support. The minimum requirements to play Overwatch includes the GeForce GTX 460, but the recommended specs calls for a GeForce GTX 660.
For Paragon, it doesn’t really specify what the drivers will optimize, but it does say that the Unreal Engine 4 will make full use of the very best hardware when the graphic settings are switched to their highest qualities. It is required for systems to have a minimum of requirement of a GeForce GTX 560 chip, but a GeForce GTX 660 is recommended.
Lastly, for Microsoft’s Forza Motorsport 6, and like that of Paragon, the new Nvidia drivers doesn’t really specify what the new suite will enhance. However, PC gamers will need at least a GeForce GTX 740 graphics card to play the game. To run the game in 1080p with 60-frames-per-second, gamers would have to make use of at least a GeForce GTX 970, and running on 4K at 60-frames-per-second requires a GeForce GTX 980 Ti.
