Netflix – Rolled Out Recommended TV Program

Netflix just recently rolled out a list of recommended TVs that will work best with their service. The television sets in the list have been certified by the streaming service as they have met certain experience criteria. While there are many viewers that opt for casual viewing and do not care much about getting higher quality videos from the popular streaming service, there are those who take the activity in a more serious manner. For those that are found in the latter category, the video streaming service now has a list of TVs that will give you your quality video watching bliss.

Netlfix Now Has a List of Recommended TVs to Watch Videos With Their Service

The list made by Netflix is as follows: TV Instant On, Netflix Button on Remote, Fast App Launch, TV Resume, Easy Netflix Access, Fast App Resume/Background Mode, and the Latest Netflx Version. From the seven aforementioned criteria, the Instant On, Resume and Easy Access features are specifically built into the software of televisions that have such functionalities. In terms of having the latest version of the app, it is also software driven but can be constantly updated as long as the TV can connect to the Internet through either LAN or Wi-Fi. When talking about the Netflix button, then that is found within the hardware criteria as it means that the remote that the TV comes with should already have this button to allow for a one-touch access to the app on the TV.

Brady Gunderson, director of product management at Netflix, has the following to say about their list: “Among other benefits, these TVs have Instant On so that the TV wakes quickly, and Internet TV services and smart menu features are ready to use right away. They also have TV Resume, which means when Netflix was the last used app, the TV comes right back to Netflix when turned back on again—just like smartphones and tablets do today. Overall, these devices deliver faster performance and easier access to the most popular services.”

Currently (at the time of publishing), there are only two TV manufacturers globally that are able to meet all of the requirements found in the list provided by Netflix – Sony and LG. Furthermore, even when talking about these two brands, there are only a select few models that are able to carry the weight of the entire list on their shoulders.
