Do note that there is a difference in terms of color brightness and white brightness for the NEC Display Solutions NP-M363W. This is typical for DLP projectors. Other LCD models, like the Epson 955WH, these two brightness categories match each other. With the M363W, the difference between the two levels mean that color images won’t be as bright as you would expect them to be when compared to the white brightness level.

Aside from its brightness level, the NP-M363W projector is built around the same platform as the NEC Display Solutions NP-M363X. This means that they both share the same size, ports, and even the weight. This is despite both beamers to have different resolution and aspect ratio.

Since both NEC projectors share a lot of the same qualities, unfortunately, this also means that t hey share the same clumsy menu structure when users want to switch between 2D and 3D modes. Both also have a single-chip DLP design, which means that there will be rainbow artifacts that may show on the screen now and then.

While both share many features and flaws, they differ in resolution. The most notable difference in this aspect is the image quality. The M363W, being the better of the two in this regard, scores a better job in deliver near-excellent quality for data images. However, colors appear to be duller than its competitors, but these might not pose much of a problem if you’re going to use the unit for casual viewing or for office presentations.
