The LG gram 15 is Crazy Light for a Full-Sized Laptop

When you take a look at the LG gram 15, it is obviously a full-sized laptop. But the differences become apparent once you try to pick it up. This is because this machine from LG is crazily light. It has a 15.6-inch screen, as its name suggests, that is common for a full-sized portable computer. However, LG has managed to keep its overall weight down under 1-kilogram.

To make it more specific, the total weight of the LG gram 15 Laptop is just 980-grams (hence the gram moniker). When you think about it, it really is that incredible. When comparing it to the smaller 13-inch MacBook Air, which weighs 1.35-kilograms, Apple’s contender is a decent chunk heavier. Furthermore, it is the same weight as LG’s smaller 14-inch model.

With the weight alone, anyone can be easily impressed by what LG had done with the particular laptop. Furthermore, the company is quite possibly correct in calling it the lightest 15-inch laptop in the entire globe. However, with the achievement that is its weight will definitely come with some sacrifices.

For instance, the MacBook Air has an aluminum body whereas LG’s lightest contender is made from a magnesium alloy. Even though the main section of the laptop definitely feels sturdy enough, there will be that thought at the back of your head that you might accidentally bend it without putting too much pressure on it. In other words, the exteriors of the gram 15 feels really cheap.

Aside from its impressive light weight, it does offer some pretty decent hardware specs under the hood. To start, the display offers a Full HD resolution. Now there are others that would want more resolution but this also means that going FHD will be kinder when speaking about battery life. While still on the display, there is a small bezel around the screen which means that laptop is not much larger than the 14-inch model.

Even though the LG gram 15 is crazily light for a full-sized laptop, and the hardware specifications are pretty decent as well, there is that looming thought that you will always have to take utmost care of it because of its cheap-feeling exteriors.
