With the awaited release of Kingdom Hearts III, Square Enix decided to release a game to help gamers understand the story better with the upcoming release of Kingdom Hearts HD II.8. This KH game will be the Final Chapter Prologue that has a story that will lead to the events of KH III. The game is slated sometime in 2016 and it will be playable for the PlayStation 4.
The HD collection will be the final piece of the puzzle that connects the previous games to the next installment of the videogame franchise. One look at the incredibly long title and it would seem that it is perhaps one of the crown jewels of Square Enix’s title generation department.
Kingdom Hearts HD II.8 Will Connect Previous Games Together With Kingdom Hearts III
Kingdom Hearts HD II.8 will include an HD remaster of Kingdom Hears: Dream Drop Distance which was originally released for the Nintendo 3DS. As for how Square Enix made the transition from dual-screen to single screen functionality for the game, very little can be said about that notion from the news and trailer of which Square Enix had just recently showed to the gaming world.
Aside from the HD remastered version of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, there are also two “episodes” that is included in the disc for Kingdom Hearts HD II.8: Final Chapter Prologue. The titles of these episodes are Kindomg Hearts X (chi) Back Cover and Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage.
Gamers who are fans of the franchise will immediately get excited seeing one of their favorite Kingdom Hearts heroines, Aqua from Birth By Sleep, return to the scene in 0.2.
**Spoiler Alert**
For those who have not played or gone through the ending of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, either skip to the end of the article or look away now.
After completing all three story-arcs in Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, you will be presented with an extra “episode” in which you will take control of Aqua. In order to save her friends, Aqua plunged herself into darkness. In there, she is met with several trials but ultimately decides not to give up hope.
With Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage, we see in the trailer that Aqua is still continuing to press on in order to get out of the Darkness.
Kingdom Hears HD II.8 will be the third HD compilation of the Kingdom Hearts franchise that we’re going to get from Square Enix.
