iPhone 7 – Analyst Says it Won’t Have “Many Attractive Selling Points”

Apple has already confirmed that their smartphone sales are slowing down, but things might get worse as 9to5Mac reports they don’t expect the iPhone 7 to have “many attractive selling points.” In fact, even Apple smartphone shipments are expected to fall to 190-million for this year, which is less than 193-million iPhones that have been shipped back in 2014. Still, shipments do not equal sales, but there is still much reason to believe that declining shipments and the decline of sales are related.

iPhone 7 - Analyst Says it Won't Have "Many Attractive Selling Points"

The iPhone 7 Might Have a Tough Time Competing With Rivals

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo already expects that the iPhone won’t have a very good year, and it could mean that the trend might follow with the iPhone 7 when it is expected to be announced in September of this year. The analyst also pointed things about the iPhone SE, which is a great phone but not a major departure in terms of the Cupertino-based tech giant’s design or features. He also points out that the inability of making some drastic changes to the original iPhone makeup will make shipments slide.

Ming-Chi Kuo expects that the demand to pick back up in 2017, when the Apple iPhone 7 will be released with a total overhaul of the smartphone’s design as it is reported to have an all-glass body along with an AMOLED display. At the moment, reports about the next generation iPhone are still minimal and almost all of those rumors are not confirmed by the tech giant themselves. However, a complete refresh of the iPhone to mark the 10th anniversary of the device would be fitting.

Aside from the all-glass body and AMOLED display, there are rumors wherein alleged leaked images and renderings of the 7th generation iPhone depict two models just like the iPhone 6s as it also has a larger companion by way of the iPhone 6s Plus. Mac Otakara of MacRumors state that the leaked images could be the “real thing.” The photos also show of a Smart Connector, which hints the possibility of a Smart Keyboard.

The idea of having a Smart Keyboard for the new iPhone is plausible since Apple has been releasing a lot of accessories as of late, especially when we’re talking about the iPad Pros. It is possible that the tech firm is wanting to pour on the Smart accessories trend with the upcoming iPhone.

There are also rumors that the iPhone 7 won’t have a headphone jack. This will make headway for the newer generation headsets and will also make way for more wireless options.
