Guess Connect Review – Luxury on Your Wrist

One of the first designer smartwatches that graces the wearable tech market is the Guess Connect. The unisex smartwatch is available in five colors, these include white and rose gold. The watch is made to feel just like a regular Guess watch, but will have smart features. It has Bluetooth connectivity as one of its features.

Guess Connect Review – Luxury on Your Wrist

Can the Guess Connect Compete Well With the Ever Growing Smartwatch Industry?

While the Guess Connect is made to be a premium smartwatch, the company chose an inelegant way to display notifications. There is a black strip at the bottom of the watch’s face which will display said notifications. This tiny LED screen will house all the notifications and to its side has black circle, which is the notification light.

But if there are no notifications, this ugly black bar is an unattractive portion to the watch’s face. For other watchfaces, the black bar is not that noticeable, but on the lighter watchface of the connect, the bar is plenty obvious.

Connecting the Guess Connect smartwatch will let you control the number of notifications that will pop up on the device. You can personalize the vibration patterns for each type of notification. You can even add more options to these vibration patters if you so desire.

For emails and other text-based notifications, it will scroll on that black bar. It is advised, however, to limit the number of text-based notifications. Why? Because if there’s a lot, then expect to wait a while before each one scrolls completely; and with that thin bar, that may take a while. You may just have to whip out your phone instead of waiting around for the black bar to complete all the scrolling text notifications.

Also, there is absolutely no way to turn the brightness of the LED screen on the watch. This means that once you get a notification in a dark room, everyone who takes a gander at your Connect watch can take a gander. Not exactly the most appealing thing to bring in a dark cinema.

Notifications are not the only thing the watch can handle, as it can also take calls with the press of a button. The watch has a built-in speaker in its right-hand side, and a microphone on its left. If you want to have a communicator like the ones they use on Spy movies, then this may be the watch that you have been looking for all your life.

The Guess Connect should be a luxury watch but there are too many things that pose as reasons for people to pick other smartwatches instead. The watch feels rushed and its set of features do not come up to par.
