Since the Gibson Trainer Ti100 is being endorsed by none other than Usain Bolt, then you would know right off the bat that it won’t come cheap. However, it is still part of many fitness junkies’ wish lists. Nonetheless, with the heft in its price tag comes a satisfying audio performance and build quality.
The Gibson Trainer Ti100 Delivers Great Audio Performance for Fitness Junkies
The Gibson Trainer Ti100 are a pair of earphones for the fitness-centric individual. This is a tiny pair and there’s very little to say about it in terms of design. There is only one customizable feature for the device and that is a “NightNav” functionality. It will sit between the buds. There are also a couple of control buttons found near the left bud.
It is available in two colors: black or white. It also does not have an IP water resistance rating which means you can’t take it on your swimming excursions. However, there is a weatherseal coating which still does a more than decent performance in resisting rain and sweat.
Build quality is excellent and the accompanying cable is robust, despite some design flaws in this department. The cable also has not much chance of making the device fall apart even if it is handled roughly.
Going back to the NightNav feature, it is a key element to the Ti100. With it, the device clearly makes a stand for night runners. A quick double-click on the O button found in the middle of the controller will brighten up three white LEDs which will pulse around the circumference of the battery. The lights will also shine out from the nape of the wearer’s neck/
While this is a neat feature, it is still not a replacement for the reflective gear that you should be wearing when you’re out exercising outdoors during the night. Just think of it as something extra.
This wireless headset has no wired option and it can be paired via Bluetooth or NFC. Battery life is claimed to last up to 6-and-a-half hours with continuous use. As for sound quality, it is great but not the type that will knock your socks off. There is a bit of extra bass coming off of the headset to pump your blood while your exercising. Isolation is also okay to get rid of distraction while in the gym.
Even if the Gibson Trainer Ti100 are not the best sports headphones out on the market, they still offer decent build quality and audio performance. It does come with some neat features, but its overall package may not justify its high price tag well.
