Fujifilm X-T10 Review - Probably the Best "Bang For Your Buck" Camera You Can Buy

The Fujifilm X-T10 is Pretty as a Picture

For the design of the Fujifilm X-T10, it is similar to that of the XT-1. It is small, stylish, and beautiful to look at. Its retro looks give you a taste of nostalgia as it has a design that is reminiscent to old film cameras. But unlike that of the X-T1, the X-T10’s body is not weatherproof. Also, the body is mostly plastic and has magnesium top and bottom plates.

But against those comparisons, the X-T10 camera is noticeably smaller than that of its bigger brother. It even weighs 60-grams less. This gives it an edge when it comes to rival compact cameras that are roughly the same size.

Around the back of the camera, there is a 3-inch flippable retro facade with its many manual controls which sits proudly on the top plate. This is the kind of camera that you are itching to pick-up and show off because of its looks. Furthermore, it feels great when holding it as its grip and thumb rest nicely placed. All of the controls are within easy reach as well.

When it comes to image quality, the X-T10 has little, or even no difference with the X-T1. It still has the same 16-megapixel imaging sensor and the photos taken still appear to be quite identical. But when compared to other camera systems, the story is different.

For Fujifilm’s X-series, the X-Trans sensor has a different pixel array to that of the Bayer sensor which is found in most cameras. Fujifilm’s sensors will be able to process images in a different manner, and that can be a good and a bad thing.

For the good part, the sensor generates great color for its images. Just looking at the pictures taken with this camera will let you forget about all the technical details about the photography world to just simply marvel at how each photo looks, and they look beautiful in terms of color. For a compact camera, it takes the best JPEG format pictures that you can get in today’s market.

Even though there are a lot of good that can be said about the Fujifilm X-T10, there are other cameras that offer more megapixel counts at the same price range. Therefore, if you’re looking to print a large picture with this camera, you would be getting about 17 x 11-inches at best.
