Epson EX9200 Pro Wireless WUXGA 3LCD Projector Review – A Great Choice if You Don’t Want 3D

The Epson EX9200 Pro Wireless WUXGA 3LCD Projector stands out as one mean competitor in the growing category of small projectors. It is a lightweight device and is portable enough to bring around. It has decent brightness to give clear pictures inside a small to medium0sized room. It has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and has a brightness rating of 3,200 Lumens. It can deliver excellent quality for images, and an even better quality for videos. However, the projector lacks 3D support.

The Epson EX9200 Pro Wireless WUXGA 3LCD Projector is a Great All-Around Non-3D Projector

The Epson EX9200 Pro Wireless WUXGA 3LCD Projector is built around a three-chip LCD engine. It has two major advantages that puts it on the leading edge against its competitors. This three-chip technology is able to guarantee images won’t have rainbow artifacts. These rainbow artifacts are found in occasional DLP projectors. The technology will also assure that its whites and color brightness match equivalently. Therefore, viewers won’t have to worry about the differences between the two factors to affect color or brightness quality.

While much good that can be said about the Epson EX9200 Pro, there is one key disadvantage to it – it does not offer 3D support. While this is clearly a disadvantage, it would seem that it does not affect everyone who plans to purchase a projector. Not everyone would want a 3D functionality for their projector anyway.

As for the EX9200 Pro’s dimensions, it measures in at 3.2 x 11.7 x 9.6-inches. It weighs 5-pounds, and for a projector, that is light enough to carry around different rooms around the house, or to carry across different meeting rooms inside an office. Its size and weight class is appropriate enough to be permanently installed in one spot, or in a mount or cart.

Image quality is excellent but with the exception of one mode which is the Presentation mode. In this mode, it has an annoyingly low contrast ratio but with an unusually bright glow. Fortunately, you can just avoid this mode completely by selecting other pre-defined settings for the device.

Video quality is also excellent, even better than viewing stills. However, it is not within the same class as a home theater projector, but the lack of rainbows will make the EX9200 Pro a great value.

The Epson EX9200 Pro Wireless WUXGA 3LCD Projector provides great image viewing experience and an even greater movie watching one. While it does not have 3D support, it is not so much as a great disadvantage as not all would want this feature for their projector anyway.
