Activision has recently announced that they are going to have a new Call of Duty game from developer Infinity Ward which will be seen at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. However, the military shooter will not be shown from the company’s own booth but from Sony’s. This is because this particular company will not have their own booth at E3 2016.
Activision Will Not Have Their Own E3 2016 Booth
Because Activision won’t be having their very own booth in the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016, this means that two of the largest console and PC gaming publishers are no longer an official part of the convention. The other company in question is that of Electronic Arts. Both companies have been constantly building more efficient ways to communicate with their fans and business partners. However, they may have decided to cut back in spending millions of dollars and take a step back in the fight for more attention.
However, the Activision company won’t be entirely leaving the Entertainment Software Association (which organizes the annual E3 Trade Show). Said company plans to use the Los Angeles Convention Center to hold their meetings with their business partners, media, and clients.
The company explains their situation in a post in their official blog, and it states, “in June, we’re going to be at E3 showcasing gameplay from Infinity Ward’s ambitious new game. We’re looking forward to sharing exciting new details about the next great Call of Duty game in partnership with our friends at PlayStation. We’re proud to be participating in this premier video game event, but won’t have an Activision booth on the show floor.”
Even though the gaming company won’t have their very own booth in the Electronic Entertainment Expo of this year, they still have a few major reasons to go there. Not only will they hold meetings with their clients and business partners, but they will be there with Sony to promote the next Call of Duty game, along with the sci-fi shooter Destiny. Not only that, they will also promote some of their other, albeit smaller games such as Skylanders.
Activision do not do media briefing wherein they talk about all of its upcoming games like what Electronic Arts does. Instead, they work with gaming platform companies such as Microsoft and Sony with their Xbox and PlayStation lines of home gaming consoles. While they won’t be in the limelight for this year’s E3 event, it is still clear that the names of these companies will loudly be heard within the convention hall’s walls.
