The dokiWatch aims to change the name of the game of the smartwatch market by not targeting adults who like to cram a bunch of features into a wearable tech. This watch is designed for kids, and not for the kids at heart. It is the first smartwatch (for kids) that is featured with video calling, GPS locator, fitness tracker, and more.
The dokiWatch is a Smartwatch Designed for Ages 6 to 12 Years of Age
With the dokiWatch, kids are now able to tell time with a device that is fit for the 21st century. It does not just tell what time it is, but it also presents a bunch of other features to their pleasure. It is the first 3G-enabled smartwatch designed for kids ages 6 to 12 years old. It is also a phone and a locator. It is able to do video calling, voice calling, and messaging. So if your child is a huge fan of Sci-Fi movies wherein people like to talk to their watches to communicate, well now they can do the same.
Since this is designed for kids, the dokiWatch smartwatch also comes with a number of safety features. This includes GPS tracking so that parents are able to know where their kids are currently located with the aid of a smartphone app. The watch also has an electronic pet, named “dokiPet,” which also doubles as a fitness tracker. dokiPet will encourage your children to stay active and healthy with the use of fun incentives such as achievement badges.
Parents are also able to do a number of functions from the doki app on their smartphone to take control of their kids’ smartwatch. For instance, there is a Sleep Mode so that the watch will be deactivated to let children focus on sleeping or studying.
Unlike many smartwatches out in the market that are reliant on a connected mobile phone or tablet, this wearable tech for kids is a phone in itself. Hence, there is a Micro SIM slot wherein an appropriate SIM card will be inserted for it to have mobile connectivity. With the SIM card inserted, it can deliver 3G connectivity speeds. It also has Wi-Fi connectivity for when you and your kids are just at home.
The dokiWatch runs on a customized Android Wear operating system that has been designed specifically for a child’s ease-of-use. The watch is still under a Kickstarter campaign, and deliveries should start at around May 2016.
