Have you ever had that heart-stopping moment when you accidentally posted something on Facebook which was not supposed to be uploaded; well, Sony might be one of the new victims of such a scenario as they have accidentally revealed one of their upcoming smartphones, the Xperia E5. Sony Mobile confirmed the existence of their upcoming handset because of that Facebook post. However, the company soon deleted that post after a couple of hours. This brought about speculations that the tech giant may have revealed the phone a wee bit too early. It should be noted that the Internet is such a vast place, that even though you’ve posted something for just a few seconds, there will be someone who will take an immediate screenshot of it.
Sony May Have Accidentally Posted the Reveal of the Xperia E5 A Bit Too Early
In that Facebook post, Sony Mobile said, “Eager, effortless, and easy on the eye – it’s everything a smartphone should be. Say hello to your savvy new sidekick, Xperia E5.” Unfortunately, there are no other official details about that aside from its external elements. It should be expected, however, that the successor to the Xperia E4 is going to be packed with mid-range specifications. GSMArena, on the other hand, points to a recent GFXBench listing for the Sony F3311, which was tipped to be the successor of the E4. It offers a 4.6-inch HD display, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, and a MediaTek MT6735 processor.
Let’s go back a bit to the Xperia E4 which ran on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system. It featured a 5-inch IPS LCD display with qHD (540 x 960) resolution. It was also powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor that is mated to 1GB of RAM. It also came with 8GB of internal storage which is expandable with the use of a microSD card. Other features included in the E4 are a 5-megapixel rear snapper with LED flash, a 2300mAh battery cell, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. With these specs and features, one could assume that the Sony Xperia E5 will be a more powerful version of the E4.
But how much power will the Xperia E5 have? That remains to be seen until Sony would provide more details on their upcoming smartphone and post them on their social media accounts. However, maybe on that time, it will no longer be an accident.
