There is no fixed date yet as to when will Microsoft launch its latest operating system the already famous Windows 10 but it will come in different editions as what Microsoft announced.
WINDOWS 10 HOME EDITION
This edition will be seen on most desktop PCs, laptops and hybrid PCs it will as well support but not limited to voice-assistant Cortana but also it will support Windows Hello face recognition, iris scanner and fingerprint login for various Windows apps such as Photos, Maps, Mail, Calendar, Music and Video. Aside from that it is also geared with the newest default Windows 10 browser the Windows Edge.
WINDOWS 10 PRO EDITION
This edition is for business users specifically and ideally for smaller scale businesses apart from, this edition has all the features the Windows 10 Home Edition has, it also has plus features like device management, security features, cloud features.
WINDOWS 10 ENTERPRISE EDITION
This edition is ideally for medium and large size organizations. The Windows 10 Enterprise is a built up of the Windows 10 Pro which has security features, this particular edition provide a wide array of choices when it comes to the operating system’s deployment, all-inclusive device, and other related app management.
WINDOWS 10 MOBILE EDITION
This edition is categorically for mobile as what its name implies. It is meant for use on on mobile phones, tablets and other touch-centric devices. This edition has:
- Windows Universal Apps
- Office Mobile version which is touched-optimized
- Continuum
- Latest Security and Innovation Features on the mobile devices
WINDOWS 10 EDUCATION EDITION
This is a new edition which is mainly designed for school among staff, administrators, teachers and students also, this edition is build consequent to Windows 10 Enterprise. It was also mentioned in Windows Blog that, “This edition will be available through academic Volume Licensing, and there will be paths for schools and students using Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro devices to upgrade to Windows 10 Education.”
Tony Prophet also mentioned, that “Because we have built Windows 10 to be delivered as a service, this milestone is just the beginning of the new generation of Windows. Starting this fall, customers can expect ongoing innovation and security updates for their Windows 10 devices, including more advanced security and management capabilities for businesses.”
A good news for genuine users of Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices for its first year the Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10 Pro will be available as a free upgrade, no further announcement yet as how much will it cost after one year.
