Waze, the Google-owned navigation app, recently launched a feature called Planned Drives for iOS devices. With this new feature, it will tell users exactly when to leave to get to their destination on time. To use it, just enter the time and date you need to arrive at your destination. Then, the app will just tell you when you should leave your home for you to arrive at your destination without feeling sorry for yourself. This is especially useful for anyone planning a trip, or when you’re about to go to an important meeting.

With the new Planned Drives feature, Waze will also send a reminder when the time allotted for the event draws closer. It will give an updated status with regards to departure time based on real-time traffic conditions.
“Planned Drives also makes it easier to manage your time and schedule more flexible to-dos (like errands or road trips) to avoid traffic,” states the Waze team in a blog post. For those interested in trying, or actually using the feature full-time, you can just open the app from your iOS device and enter a destination in the search bar. Then, head on to the ETA panel, tap on the Planned Drives icon found at the bottom left, to which another screen will open pertaining to the new feature. In this new screen, it will illustrate peak traffic hours along your future route. It takes into account expected traffic conditions based on built-in smart algorithms, predictive analysis, and aggregated traffic history.
While only iOS users can take advantage of this new feature at the moment, it has been stated by the developing team that the Android version for the feature will be launched “soon.” Those who are looking for a specific timeline for the new feature to arrive in Android devices are only expected to wait patiently.
As of late, developers of this popular navigation app have been busy as of late. They have recently updated their own line of apps with a newer, simpler user-interface. Their apps even have a sweet new feature – getting directions from Morgan Freeman. As for how the feature works, that would be part of a whole new story, or just head on to the apps made by the developer and try it out for yourself.
Apart from Waze having a new feature, there are also some news relating to the navigation front that should be noted. European car manufacturers, specifically those of BMW, Daimler, and Audi, have just recently announced that they would be ending support for Windows 10 and will be seriously limiting compatibility to only Windows 8 devices.
