The ViewSonic LightStream PJD7830HDL is aimed for the “use it anywhere” crowd. As such, it performs well but not great. Those who are interested in home cinema perfection may have to look somewhere else. However, for those who just wants to experience the practice of watching movies and playing games in a larger screen format, then perhaps they can think about getting the PJD7830HDL.

The ViewSonic LightStream PJD7830HDL is Made for Those Who Want an Entry-Level Experience to Larger Screen Formats

The design of the ViewSonic LightStream PJD7830HDL is largely based on the ever popular growth of business projectors everywhere. The look is obviously befitting of that of the business world. It even has a built-in speaker to assist with multimedia presentations.

The LightStream PJD7830HDL projector offers an eye-popping 3,200 ANSO Lumens of brightness, which is twice that of a super serious dedicated home cinema projector. Hence, you can watch movies, play games, or present a business proposal in a very well-lit room and the images being displayed are still very clear.

The brightness alone is not the only aspect of this projector which allows it to display crystal clear images in broad daylight. It has a contrast ratio of 22,000:1 that proves just as important. With this contrast ration and amazing brightness levels, this makes the single-chip DLP projector highly versatile. Even the 16W power of the speaker makes this a good choice.

This device has 254 by 152 by 254-millimeters in terms of dimensions, and it weighs 2.8-kilograms. While it’s not exactly one of the lightest projectors in the market, it can outperform a lot of its competitors in terms of usability. There is a flap on the back of the projector which is used to hide all the ports of the device.

Speaking of the possible connections, the PJD7830HDL has lofty ambitions with regards to this aspect. It has a single HDMI port that is joined by composite video, a dedicated audio minijack, a D-sub 15-pin (to attach the device to a laptop, PC, or monitor output), and an RS232 slot.

Perhaps the most impressive feature of the PJD7830HDL is not its visuals but its powerful audio. It has a SonicExpert speaker which is located to its side. Although mono, it provides more than enough volume for a projector.

The ViewSonic LightStream PJD7830HDL is a portable projector that offers amazing performance in terms of brightness, contrast, and even sound. However, there is a potential for rainbows and it has an average black level for the images. With these in thought, the PJD7830HDL is just your average business projector with greater sound capabilities.
