Titanfall 2 – To be Released Sometime This Year. Mass Effect: Andromeda to be Launched Early 2017.

It would seem that Battlefield 1 will not be the only online shooter from EA this year as they have just confirmed a release window for the sci-fi shooter Titanfall 2. At first, it would seem that the sci-fi version of Call of Duty, dubbed Infinity Warfare, would be only going up against the more historically-themed Battlefield 1. However, EA confirmed a second horse to enter the race this year.

Titanfall 2 Will be Released This Year

According to EA’s financial results, Titanfall 2 will be released somewhere between the months of October and December within this year. This is actually in line with what EA had said before. At the same time with the announcement to the next installment to the Titanfall series, Mass Effect: Andromeda was also given a release window and it is said that it will be launched in “early” 2017. This is also as expected as what they have previously stated. However, and for some reason, developer BioWare is stating that this is a delay.

BioWare’s Aaryn Flynn stated the following:  As we’ve been playing the game at the studio recently, it’s showing us that we’re taking the game in the right direction. But we also know we need the right amount of time to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be – that’s our commitment from all of us to all of you.”

Both Titanfall 2 and Mass Effect: Andromeda will be officially unveiled during this year’s E3 event, which will happen in a month. Or rather, these games will appear on EA’s pre-E3 show as they are not going to properly attend the event this year.

Aside from the announcement pertaining to the aforementioned two games, EA also announced that Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will be released next year. All of the information being released pertaining to the title is part of their financial earnings report. Furthermore, they have also confirmed a new Need For Speed title that will also be released sometime in 2017. There is also a brand new IP that is not a sequel or a licensed game.

Of course, the financial report of EA did not just include Titanfall 2, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, or the new Need For Speed game as it would have numbers pertaining to their sales. Over the course of the year, the company’s sales were slightly down last year. However, third quarter sales (which are in the all-important Christmas period) let the firm saw a massive leap in profits.
