The Casio G-Shock G-Steel – The Apple Watch Killer

The Casio G-Shock G-Steel - The Apple Watch Killer

Many have perceived the Casio G-Shock G-Steel to put an end to the reign of the Apple Watch. Many question “Why?” as the watch is not even a smartwatch.

First of all, we know that Casio’s G-Shock line is best known for being very shock resistant. However, the company leaned more towards the luxury watch market by creating more of their steel and metal watches that fall under their MT-G and MR-G lines. Still, fans of their shock-resistant counterparts are still calling for newer models from the successful watch brand. Thus, the watch company made a more affordable metal G-Shock to appease both markets.

The Casio G-Shock G-Steel Line Boasts Luxury and Durability

The new Casio G-Shock G-Steel series recently hit stores and comes in both resin and stainless steel bands. Both options are, of course, shock resistant which holds true for the G-Shock line. The watches will also be water resistant for up to 200 meters and they are also solar powered. Worried about the battery life of your watch? With this watch, you won’t have to (unless you live in a cave or you don’t wear your watch outdoors).

While it is very appealing to many fans of the Casio G-Shock line, as well as with their line of other luxury watches, it is missing the automatic GPS time-setting feature which many admirers know and love. The company calls this feature the GPS Hybrid Wave Ceptor, which makes for worry-free time telling no matter which time zone you are currently. Still, even without this amazing technology built into this new line, the cost for obtaining the watch is pretty much lesser than purchasing a model with the GPS Hybrid Wave Ceptor.

Other features of this new line brought to us by Casio include double LED lights, the ability to set 5 daily alarms, a 1/100 stopwatch, and also an hourly time signal. The watches also offer time telling for 31 time zones with a city code display, but this feature is different than the GPS Hybrid Wave Ceptor.

As for the looks, the watches sport a layered bezel structure to go along with the flurry of features.

The Casio G-Shock G-Steel line is inspired for the adventurous man with a more refined style. One who is constantly seeking life’s thrills but never forgetting their looks. The watches are equipped with a dual-layer makeup of resin and steel, or resin and fine resin, which produces a timepiece that can, and will, resist very strong shocks.
