StarVR - Oculus Rift Competitor

The Oculus which is owned by Facebook, developed the Oculus Rift VR. Meanwhile, there is a new virtual reality headset that challenges the Rift it is the StarVR Headset. The new virtual headset on the other hand is develop by the Starbreeze which is a a video game developer.

 The game maker Starbreeze said that, the Project StarVR expands the typical 180-degree view to cover more than 75 percent of a human’s sight line. StarVR includes Fresnel lenses and a dual 5.5-inch quad-HD panel for 5,120-by-1,440 pixels per eye.

 Commenting about the product, Bo Andersson Klint, the Starbreeze CEO said that,”Our StarVR aims at bringing the next-generation entertainment experiences to reality,” he further added that, “By immersing ourselves into the VR field, we aim to learn fast, position Starbreeze for the future, and allow people to enter into new worlds.

 

PRODUCT BACKGROUND

 The new virtual reality headset which is the StarVR is originally produced by a firm known as French VR firm InfinitEye. However, the game maker Starbreeze acquired the firm. Thus and so the the latter rebranded it to Starbreeze Paris going forward.

 The CEO, Klint commented more by saying that, “The ultra-wide field-of-view on the new StarVR corresponds to man’s own, which lays the foundation for an authentic experience.”

 

E3 CONFERENCE

 The company’s presentation of its new VR will be first experience during the E3 the attendees of the most lavish conference will be get the chance to play Overkill’s The Walking Dead, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition, and The Golden Grin Casino Heist on StarVR.

 In line with that the Klint said that, “Starbreeze’s vision is to become a leader in the entertainment industry by delivering world-class experiences,” and added that, “The landscape of entertainment is transforming and we strongly believe VR will be a big part of the story of our industry going forward.”

 While new development with the Rift had been announced publicly such as Oculus Touch a new set of handheld controllers was featured and was highlighted during the company’s presentation at the E3. Created a buzzed and surprised other tech companies when it announced a partnership with the Microsoft. More than than the Rift will sell packed with an Xbox One controller.

 There are more and more companies coming out with betting on the VR. The StarVR is one example.
