The latest update that will hit StarCraft II later this month is Nova Covert Ops. It is a single-player campaign found in the game’s storyline and it will include nine missions spanning three separate packs. The first of the three packs will be released in March 30th in Europe, whereas the second and third missions are going to be available by the end of 2016.
StarCraft II Nova Covert Ops Will be Available in Three Packs
The Nova Covert Ops content for StarCraft II is a standalone DLC, which means you don’t need to have the original copy of StarCraft or the 2nd iteration to the game to play it. It has also been said that it will feature the familiar gameplay that was found in the 2nd installment of the title. However, it is not entirely the same as there are some new mechanics found within the downloadable content for the first time.
There is a press release regarding the StarCraft II Nova Covert Ops DLC, and a portion of the announcement states: “In the first mission pack of Nova Covert Ops, you will play as November “Nova” Terra, the Dominion’s most powerful Ghost. As Nova, you’ll undertake assignments that are as dangerous as they are vital to the survival of the Dominion: infiltrating enemy bases, intercepting planetary invasions, leveraging experimental technology, and even more top-secret operations.”
Players who are able to pre-order the complete bundle before the launch date will also receive a freebie in the form of a Covert Ops skin for their Ghost units in the game. The nine new missions included in the new content are new and will span across the three mission packs. Players will be able to immerse themselves in the Koprulu sector as they need to work their way through the various levels in the famous Real-Time Strategy format that is StarCraft.
According the game’s product description found at the Blizzard website, it is a tale about a “Ghost.” The description says, “The reign of Emperor Valerian Mengsk is under threat. Along with facing political opposition, several Dominion ghosts have gone missing in action while under his rule. Their trail leads to a secretive Terran group, the Defenders of Man. As Nova Terra, a psionic ghost trained to be the perfect covert operative, you must delve into the conspiracy before it’s too late for the Terran Dominion.”
The original StarCraft II game was originally released back in 2010 and has already received two expansions since then. The first was Heart of the Swarm (which was released back in 2013), and the other title is Legacy of the Void (which was made to be available just last year).
