Phonejoy Gamepad 2 Review – A Joy Indeed

The Phonejoy Gamepad 2 is a controller that is compact in nature which can be expanded to accommodate your smartphone. It connects to the handset with the use of a Bluetooth link. This will turn the phone into something that is similar to a dedicated portable gaming console. The device has an internal rechargable battery that can last up to 14-hours of continuous play on a full-charge. It is also compatible with iOS and Android devices.

Phonejoy Gamepad 2 Review - A Joy Indeed

The Phonejoy Gamepad 2 is the Next Evolution of Mobile Gaming

When it comes to the design of the Phonejoy Gamepad 2, it does not stray away from its predecessor that much. In fact, for those who have an untrained eye, the two devices may seem like twins. The looks are practically the same as they both boast the same ergonomic casing. Said casing is comfortable to the touch and grip even with extended hours of play. The same expanding mechanism is there which will allow you to insert your phone in the middle. It can happily accommodate phones of up to 6-inches in size.

Look more closely on the Gamepad 2 and you will notice subtle yet significant changes thrown into the basic design. This time around, the face buttons are made to be more responsive. For those who are not in the know, the previous iteration had a mushy feel to it. The dual analogue pads have also undergone a makeover. These are now sticks that stand more proudly and now feature a concave rather than a convex surface.

These analogue pads can also be clicked, like what you can do on the PS4 and Xbox One controllers. When clicked, these pads provide another input option. These sticks are easily the biggest external change for the new Gamepad.

Linking the mobile gaming peripheral to your phone is a breeze. Simply open the Bluetooth menu, then on the pad to pair the two devices up. The device now uses Bluetooth 3.0 technology as opposed to its former model’s 2.1.

When it comes to stamina, the mobile gaming device is a tank. It can offer around 14-hours of gaming on a single full-charge. The original one was still impressive as it can deliver 8-hours of battery life.

The Phonejoy Gamepad 2 is made for serious mobile gamers. It is an improvement to the already magnificently functioning Phonejoy Gamepad. If you are the type who is serious about playing hardcore mobile games without the need to touch the screen of your smartphone all the time, then this device is definitely for you.
