Its features and hardware spec offerings are clearly geared towards setting on taking up a permanent residence in your living room. This is an excellent piece of technology for sports fans as they can enjoy every bit of the action while watching clear images on a larger screen. If you’re not a sports fan, not to worry as this particular projector also does great performance for videogames and movies.
The Optoma H183X is Your All-Around Projector That Can Stay Permanently in Your Living Room
The Optoma H183X has a fairly rectangular footprint with a matte-black finish. It has a flat top along with grilled sides. It has an overly simplistic design that won’t appease those who are looking for more “fashionable” choices. However, it’s not the gaudiest piece of technology out there. You can just let it stay in your living room without the device taking up too much attention. It does, however, surprisingly feel robust and heavy, especially when you consider its low price tag.
But perhaps due to its low price point, then you would be assured that there are some corners that have been cut. For instance, the connectivity on the H183X is a bit underwhelming, primarily due to users are only going to get one HDMI input. But in truth, however, this kind of projector will be kept permanently locked in place on a shelf, on top of a table, or a cupboard. You might bring it out once in a while but only for special occasions. Therefore, a single HDMI source will most likely be enough.
Joining the HDMI input and you will also have a D-SUB VGA port, 3.5-millimeter audio input/output jacks, an RS-232C port (to assist in system integration), and a composite video port. It is also possible to stream videos towards the projector through wireless means, but you would have to spend extra for the company’s WHD200 wireless video kit.
Even with its low price tag, the Optoma H183X does appeal for many in terms of performance. It can offer the most pleasant black response, by far, for a projector located at its price class. When using its Eco+ mode, the dark scenes do look far more natural than other cheap devices on the market. Furthermore, since it delivers solid black-level performance, you would be assured that you get a good amount of contrast in images.
