Nintendo 2DS – Handheld Console Has Price Cut. Now at Lowest Point Ever.

There are many who would prefer on getting the Nintendo 2DS rather than the 3DS for a number of reasons, and one of those is that the former handheld console has a lower price point than the latter. However, just recently, the gaming company announced that they lowered the price of the 2DS handheld gaming system from $99.99 to $79.99. Furthermore, it even includes a full game download of Mario Kart 7.

Nintendo 2DS is Now Made Even More Affordable Than the 3DS Counterpart

Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing stated the following in a press release: “Nintendo 2DS is the best value available for a portable dedicated gaming system and is great for gaming on the go. The system has a library full of high-quality games for purchase, some in our Nintendo Selects category for less than $20 each, featuring Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi and Zelda.”

Even though the 2DS does not have the 3D functionality of the 3DS, it has been dubbed by Nintendo as the perfect starter handheld console, especially for kids. Moffitt told the company’s fans back at E3 2015 that the lower-priced and lower-speced counterpart of the 3DS was for the budget conscious or for the young (or young at heart AND budget conscious). Furthermore, he also told us that the 3DS XL was targeted for gamers who would rather play on a larger screen but in still in a more affordable manner than getting the New 3DS XL.

For those who are not in the new, the New 3DS XL is the flagship handheld console by Nintendo that has all the bells and whistles attached that you won’t see on the regular 3DS. This would allow gamers to choose how they would jump from the 3DS gaming platform. The 2DS has the size, hardware capabilities, and the price that are ideal for anyone who would want to try out the gaming company’s titles. Furthermore, in this year, there will be a lot of great titles that will be enjoyed for both the new and veteran Nintendo handheld gamer.

For instance, a title that’s coming out within the year for the Nintendo 2DS, 3DS, 3DS XL, and the New 3DS is the new Kirby game dubbed “Planet Robobot.” It will be released on the 10th of June. But probably what’s more exciting for many is the next installment of the Pokémon franchise, Sun and Moon, which will hit stores on the 18th of November of this year.
