Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Review – Durability is Its Middle Name

Perhaps the greatest feature of the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 is that it can be dropped from a suitable height without the screen cracking. This is good for clumsy hands or people who have sweaty palms whilst operating their handsets. Aside from the tough screen, it also has top-tier performance levels, a solid battery life, and even the ability to design your own phone through the company’s website.

What Can be Expected of the Motorola Droid Turbo 2

For the shatterproof screen, the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 has a 5.4-inch display, 3,560 by 1,440 pixel resolution, and a plastic AMOLED display at 540-ppi pixel density. There is an integrated screen protector that can absorb scratches.

This is the type of screen that won’t scratch or crack when you drop it. When looking at it on paper or when hearing about it, it seems too good to be true, but it is. The Droid Turbo 2 and its shatterproof is really shatterproof. With a screen protection so nice you say its quality twice.

There are already numerous tests that were made to test out this shatterproof screen. It was stepped on, dropped from a table height, even dropped from the length of a tall ladder, and the screen still looks pristine as it was released from the factory. There are even more rigorous tests such as dropping nails on top of it, and the phone still worked right after as if nothing had happened.

Looking past the shatterproof display and you get a phone that has dimensions of 5.9 by 3.07 by 0.36 inches. It weighs about 6-ounces and lets owners customize the design of their phone to their liking via the Motorola website.

At first glance, the Turbo 2 looked pretty much the same with the Moto X Pure Edition. Both phones have a solid metal ring found along its edge, and there’s a Micro-USB port found at the bottom. There is also that familiar headphone jack on its top, and a nice ridged metal power button and volume rocker found at the right edge of the handset.

When it comes to performance, the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 performs absolutely well. It has a 2.0GHz eight-core Snapdragon 810 processor, internal memory of either 32 or 64GB (with an expandable memory card slot of up to 2TB), a very impressive 3,760mAh embedded battery cell, wireless charging capabilities, and a faster wired charging method. With the shatterproof screen and blazing fast performance, the Turbo 2 makes for a premium contender in the smartphone market.
