More than 75 Million Devices upgraded to Microsoft Windows 10

A tweet from Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Windows and Devices Group, confirmed that Microsoft Windows 10 is running on more than 75 Million devices worldwide. It is clear, then , that the number of people who uses Microsoft 10 for all its compatible devices are going on a faster rate. The first 24 hours of its launch, the Microsoft’s latest operating system was installed for as many as 19 Million devices. This does not limit to PC download, but all sorts of mobile devices. This goes to show that windows 10 is steadily gaining more users, for all types of mobile devices that the OS is compatible with.

According to Mehdi, Microsoft Windows 10 has at least six times more download per device than Windows 8 did. The advent of Windows 8 stirred up multiple reactions from long time users of the Microsoft OS, as it had definitely shown a lot of differences in comparison the previous Operating Systems. Not everyone liked the then new version of Microsoft OS for various reason. The increase of Microsoft Windows 10 download may be a sign that perhaps users are satisfied with the features of the previous OS, and would like to continue and use the newest addition to the Microsoft Operating Systems.

Mehdi has also stated that more than 90,000 unique PC and tablet models have upgraded to Windows 10 today. In just a month since its launch, the latest OS his running on more than 75 Million devices all over the world. Since it has just been since the Microsoft Windows 10 was launched, there may be more who will upgrade their Operating systems.

Microsoft Windows 10 was available to users as a free upgrade to Microsoft Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 last July 29, 2015. It has several edition, the four main editions being Home, Pro, Enterprise, and Education. Since its launch, Microsoft has release several updates, features, and fixes. However, Microsoft has not given a full disclosure to the public as to the nature of these fixes in the updates are.

It is their aim to have Windows 10 downloaded to about 1 billion devices by the late summer of 2018. Given the increasing number of downloads in just a month of its launch, this goal does not seem to be impossible to achieve.
