Microsoft Surface Phone Will Not be Launched This Year, Reports Claim

As per a report from WindowsCentral, the Microsoft Surface Phone that the tech giant is reportedly working on will not be launching within the year. Instead, it would seem that they are planning to launch said smartphone in 2017. Many who are waiting for such a phone to fall into their hands will have to extend their patience yet again as earlier rumors point out that the phone should be released in 2016.

Even though a lot of people do not want a delayed release as it is certainly disappointing for many tech enthusiasts, there is some good news as to why such an instance has happened. At the same report, it mentions that there is a possibility that there could be three variants of the Surface Phone that will be released next year. Said report mentions that there could be a Business, Consumer, and a Prosumer/Enthusiast model of the phone when it launches in 2017.

According to another report, this time by Forbes, the delayed released could also mean that Microsoft is intending to launch the smartphone closer together with the Surface Book 2 and the Surface Pro 5. Both of these Surface devices could be launched at the later part of this year.

Even though it might still be some time for the world to get an actual glimpse of the Microsoft Surface Phone, or have official word from the tech giant about its features or hardware specs, the extra wait could very well prove to the world that the tech giant will be launching a great smartphone. It may also be a due to the long development that Microsoft is planning to make the phone have a huge impact on consumers right from the get-go.
