Apparently, Blizzard has some major plans with regards to Hearthstone. This popular card-based title will receive some kind of “special change” that will arrive prior to the new “Standard” format to which the game developers will be planning on implementing pretty soon. This announcement is still very vague and there is very little detail as to what it really is about. However, speculations are already on the rise as fans of the title foresee that it has something to do with a new card set.
Speculations are Rising About the New Hearthstone Update
In a report from PC Gamer, lead designer of Hearthstone, Ben Brode, along with senior producer Young Woo, will be making the announcement pertaining to the game during the game’s Winter Championship that will take place at the Raleigh Studios in Hollywood, California. The event will be held between the 11th to the 13th of March. As per the Battle.net website, this special announcement will also air via live-stream at 10am PST that morning for those who are fans of the game but are unable to go to said event.
The Hearthstone Winter Championships will span the likes of the Asia-Pacific, Americas, and Europe regions. For the Europe portion of the event, it will take place following the events in America. Gamers within the PAL region should know that the contests will go underway between the 18th and the 20th of March. Those in the Asia-Pacific regions will then follow afterwards on the 24th to the 26th of March.
Blizzard is already teaching various gamers how to host a spectator viewing party so that fans from all over the globe can gather their friends to watch the tournaments through the use of live-stream.
With regards to the special announcement, there are some gamers who are speculating that is has to be with a special set of the new cards that may get announced ahead of the new “Standard” format that will be rolled out in the future. However, if this is the case, then introducing the new cards while still not being able to completely announce how the old cards will be replaced in the old format can get things a little chaotic.
Presumably speaking, Blizzard might end up teasing new sets of cards for Hearthstone to kick off the spring rotation. It is also not surprising that there will be new cards that will be unveiled here and there to give fans of the title a taste of what is to come in future updates.
