Final Fantasy VII Remake – Characters From Spin-Offs Set to Appear in the Game

Fans who are awaiting the Final Fantasy VII Remake to hit consoles should already be excited when the game is released. While we’re busy twiddling our thumbs, while Square Enix does their best in giving us a grand retelling (and recreation) of the all-time popular 7th installment to the Final Fantasy franchise, game producer Yoshinori Kitase tells fans that there will be more in-game surprises coming. One of which is that characters that were found from Final Fantasy VII spin-offs titles will make an appearance in the remake.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Teases as More Surprises are Already Set to Make Their Appearance in the Game

In an interview with Game Informer, the Final Fantasy VII Remake game director shared that the game might feature some of the characters found within spin-off game titles. Kitase commented on that regard by saying the following: “It’s not to say that all or some of the characters from the spin-offs or other Compilation works will appear in the remake, but if there are any areas where we can use the settings or the characters, we do want to try to incorporate it in there, so it gives off that sense of nuance and those other stories existing.” Kitase also said that the characters could also appear in the game or would just be referenced in the story.

The team behind the development of FFVII Remake already knows how many installments the game will have (since it was previously announced that the entire remake will be of an episodic release). What of its fans? We won’t know at the moment, but it is said that the story is already under development. Kitase also stated that there could be changes as they progress through the other installments.

For those who have already played the PlayStation classic, players might think that the story will already be too familiar. However, the game director promised will not fail to surprise its players. “We have archived versions of our games, and a lot of times, people buy them and it starts off with nostalgia – but after that, you’re essentially following the story you already know,” Kitase stated while in the interview.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is more than just bringing nostalgia to its players. If it were, then the entire game would just get pretty boring as players progress. In order to avoid such a scenario, the developers have decided to include more surprises into the mix.
