Epson WorkForce Pro WF-6530 Review – Worth a Consider

The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-6530 is a laser color inkjet multi-function printer (MFP) which is designed for small to medium-duty printing for a small office or workgroup. For its specs and features, it brings fast printing speeds, low running costs, and the build quality that will make it last longer than other competitive laser printers. However, when it comes to overall performance, it doesn’t quite match the top contenders in its class. Nonetheless, it is still worth the consider.

Epson WorkForce Pro WF-6530 Review - Worth a Consider

The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-6530 is Great for Medium-Duty Printing

In terms of looks, the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-6530 is very similar to the company’s own WF-6590, with the exception of the former having a matte black finish while the latter is off-white. The WF-6530 is a large machine as it measures in at 20.2 x 20.3 x 20.6-inches for its dimensions when closed for storage, and it measures in at 21.3 x 20.3 x 29.8-inches when the trays are extended. It weighs a lot as it has a weight of 68-pounds.

At its top, there is a legal-size flatbed and an automatic document feeder (ADF). The flatbed can hold up to 50-sheets of paper at a time. For the ADF, it is equipped for single-pass scanning of two-sided documents. This save a whole lot of time as compared with MFPs that will have to scan one side of a document at a time.

The WorkForce Pro WF-6530 has a 50,000-page maximum monthly duty cycle, but the recommended monthly duty cycle is 4,000-pages. It has a 580-sheet paper capacity which is split between two trays. One tray can cover the 500-sheets whereas the other can store the remaining 80. Along with the trays, there is also an auto-duplexer for two-sided printing.

When it comes to its print speed, it is not the most phenomenal one in the market. It clocks in at 11.4-pages per minute (ppm), but the WF-6590 can dish out 12.7ppm. However, most people won’t complain about the print speed as the quality of the print-outs are more important.

Speaking of the output quality, it was a tad below par for an inkjet MFP. Text and photos came out average with a slight subpar quality. The text do come out fine for business use, but smaller fonts tend to have a bit of problem. Graphics are typical for business use, but printing out PowerPoint presentations won’t impress people.

The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-6530 has a decent mix of performance and features, but they are not good enough to beat the competition. It promotes average performance for typical business use, just don’t expect any high quality printing for text and graphics out of it.
