Guardians should be now anticipating with glee as Destiny has not yet been forgotten by Bungie. Even though it has earlier been revealed that the developers would mainly focus on the 2nd installment of the popular FPS title, they have been hard at work in providing more content for the original game. They have also released the details of the much-awaited Spring updated that will be headed to the game very soon. The update, which was previously called Update 2.2.0, it will be released on April 12th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3.
Details of the April Update for Destiny Revealed
As what has been promised, the Destiny patch will be available for download without charge for all owners of last year’s The Taken King expansion. The update will introduce new features into the mix which include new PVE challenges, new and updated gear, new quest that features the Blighted Chalice Strike, an increase in max light and rewards, and sandbox and crucible updates.
The update does seem promising but many deem it as a case of “too little, too late.” While it is no secret that the title, even Destiny: The Taken King, has been severely lacking in meaningful content now. It has been several months since the previous update and fans are kept hungry and thirsty for more. With a recent statement by Bungie that they are going to focus more on the development of their new game, what’s going to happen to gamers who are still playing the original title? Also, will there be any more updates after the April patch?
If there aren’t, then games would be even thirstier for more content than what they’re currently feeling now as the next title is reportedly going to be released sometime in 2017. With the upcoming patch, hopefully it would satiate the desires for content for those looking for it until the next game arrives, especially when talking about that max Light level. With the maximum amount increased, players now get the chance to get more new gear to keep them occupied for the foreseeable future.
While the April patch may still be a ways off, Bungie will be providing a series of Twitch streams about the upcoming update for Destiny to help tide the wait (and perhaps even the anxiety) before the new content goes live. The streams will be on March 23rd, the 30th, and on April 6th, and they will all be going live at the same time which is at 11AM Pacific.
