The Blue Microphones Lola is the result of a 20-year-old pedigree of creating recording-studio gear. These are a pair of over-the-ear headphones with a sealed back design. This sealed design is particularly great as it blocks out or dampens unwanted outside noise. It will then reveal subtle nuances that you would not normally find in normal speakers.

The Blue Microphones Lola Sounds Good as it Looks

At the heart of the Blue Microphones Lola headphones is a 50-millimeter, fiber-reinforced driver. For bassy response to more nuanced musical notes, these headphones can take care of it flawlessly. Its rated frequency response will go from 15Hz to 20KHz.

These headphones are certified to work with Apple’s entire iOS lineup. Hence, it can be used with iPhones, iPads, and even with Siri. If you’re a big fan of Apple, know that this certification is quite important since it will give you confidence that the Lola headphone will work flawlessly with your iOS device. While it does have Android capability, the company says that the headphones will work with some Android devices.

However, they do not guarantee that it will work with all Android mobile devices on the market. You can still listen to great audio performances when connecting the Lola to your Android device, but you might not get the added benefits if using the in-line controls and microphone.

Blue calls the Lola as their “multi-jointed headband.” It is probably also the most adjustable pair of headphones you can get. At the top portion, there is a short slightly curved head-piece. This is flanked by independent expanding side bars. The side bars are then connected to thinner arms that have an adjustable elbow. As for the adjustable elbow, you can independently adjust each of the earpieces up or down with drastically impacting the fit.

As nice as it looks, the Lola headphone can deliver great overall sound, especially when it comes to delivering cleaner, tighter bass. As a matter of fact, every instrument that passes through the drivers are played with higher definition. The audio profile is decent enough, but it will truly shine with a dedicate headphone amp.

When it comes to visual and audio performance, the Blue Microphones Lola headphones are clearly different than its competitors. When you try and take a listen with your favorite tracks with the use of Lola, you would be hard-pressed to put it down. In fact, on its packaging, it says “Clearly Different,” which pretty much sums up the device as a whole. While the sound does not really knock many of its rivals out of the playing field, it doesn’t break a sweat in keeping up with competition.
