More and more companies were getting their hands on the wearables since the wearable market is soaring everyone feel the need to take a ride on the tide. Lycos for instance it is a search engine and a web portal which was established way back 1994, is taking its toll into the rising wearables market. The company launch a pair of wearable items which were called the Band and the Ring.

 This wearables is designed and can be used to replace password, with the use of NFC technology it can unlock proximate handsets. And there’s more than unlocking your devices the band has also the capabilities to monitor fitness, track your sleep, and an alarm. Apparently the band can last 10 to 14 days between charges. It is important to note that the two devices are both water resistant which are feared with what the company called “personal security manager” and “Tap2Transfer capabilities.” There were no clear and detailed further information about these wearables but the company will hold a launch party in Los Angeles which other details about the new products will be discuss thoroughly.

 

Unlike the band, the ring doesnt feature any of fitness tracking features.The cost of the Band will start at $124.99 while the ring at $59.99 which will be offer in six different colours.

 

The Company Is Coming Back

 Lycos before Google’s dominance have been a part of the the 90’s search engine, after being at the background and being shadowed by the giant Google, supposedly the new range of wearable devices prepared by Lycos which is scheduled to launch in the coming days is somewhat a comeback for the company.

 

Lycos Life an Android app is where the devices will be tied-up which perhaps will handle the data syncing using Bluetooth Technology. Another important announcement made the company is pertaining to its Life Project. Five percent of the sales that will be made from the project will be donated to provide free water and air quality sensors to families that need them.
