It has already been about a year since the Apple MacBook Pro came to be, and at that time it was held with a lot of praise. Even though it did have most of the specs and features that its predecessor had, it was still considered an excellent machine. It had a new trackpad, performs better, but overall it remained fundamentally unchanged. The company has also repeated the same formular with regards to their refreshed MacBook and even for the MacBook Air. This might leave some fans of the famous product line with an looming sense of disappointment as it would seem technology is now leaving these products in the dust. So the question is, what’s next for Apple’s laptop line?
Technology May Not be Very Kind to the Apple MacBook
There are some, if not many Apple MacBook fans who are now throwing their arms up in the air in exhaustion as the tech giant’s formula for their laptop line is seen to be moving forward at a slower pace than its competitors. Intel’s processors with the Skylake architecture was announced at least three times last year, but it is not only until recently that we are able to see them inside an Apple computer. Furthermore, it is only the low-power M variant. It leaves fans to question the company as to where are the new mobile workhorses.
The answer to the ever growing list of questions for what could be the new Apple MacBook might be answered during the recently announced Worldwide Developers Conference that will happen in June of this year. Rumors speculate that the event that the Apple will be hosting will announce a MacBook Pro with a major overhaul. Rumors suggest that it will have a major redesign (both inside and out), and will be able to satisfy the long-suffering fans for a decently upgraded machine.
Still, many would not really blame the tech company for their slow pace of their upgrade. After all, the current MacBook Pro already has enough advantages to last users a good long while. For example, there’s the Retina display that does serve up pretty good eye-candy, especially when it comes to photo and video editing department. However, performance still plays a major role when selecting a computer.
With technology moving ever so forward, it does leave Apple MacBook owners wanting for more. A lot of people do not just want to purchase a new laptop that is slightly better than their old one, but they need a computer that is future-proofed.
