Android 6.0 Marshmallow Review – It’s All About Power and Style

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is a battery-friendly, smarter, and smoother operating system than what the Android 5.0 Lollipop had to offer. In other words, the Android 6.0 operating system works like a charm. There are improved voice and search commands, new permissions to give users more control over their mobile device, a Flex Storage that blurs the line between internal and external storage, and a “Now on Tap” feature that comes in handy.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update is More About the Performance With a Bit of Style

Android 6.0 Marshmallow addresses the Lollipop’s shortcomings. Google is really flexing up their contextual smarts to add in features that are useful and not just some cosmetic app. Once your smartphone or mobile tablet is ready for the update, and you’ve already installed it, take a look around. But do it slowly as the Marshmallow operating system is more than just what it can present on the outside.

This year’s Android update polishes down the rougher edges that was found on the Lollipop. It makes a few things more prominent and more versatile to work with. For example, there’s the lock screen’s font; this time around it is a bit bolder than it was before. Although subtle, it does help with checking out the time or the notifications found on the lock screen a bit better.

There’s also the launcher, in which some people have already gotten a taste of it prior to the update. The new white background will seem a bit too familiar. but that’s about it as far as similarities and familiarities lie.

Now, the multiple pages of apps are now gone. This is now replaced by a single, vertically scrolling tray of icons that can be capped off with four of the most used apps in the mobile device. With Android Marshmallow, it becomes easier to access favorite apps instead of swiping left and right a lot to get to the app we need.

Above the tray we can find the search bar. This also lives in the Settings menu; hence, users won’t have to poke around a lot to try and look for an option to change. How does this work? Simply type in the option that you want changed in the search bar and it will appear in the results. Pretty convenient.

There’s also the “Now on Tap” feature, which you can activate by long-pressing the Home button when you have the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS installed. What it does is the mobile device will give you information over the Internet on what you’re currently looking at on your mobile device. This, and along with a bunch of nifty features and improvements, makes Marshmallow an all-important Android update to have.
