If you’re looking for a laptop to give to your kid so that they can get their schoolwork done better, then you may want to check out the HP Stream 11. This is an 11.6-inch laptop that has a modest 1,366 x 768-pixel resolution for its display. It weighs only 1.28-kilograms, and has hardware specs that are nothing to jump for joy with but are pretty decent for schoolwork and light office work. One of the key things that make this great for students is that it is placed in a fairly low price class.
The HP Stream 11 is Undoubtedly a Well-Performing Basic Machine
The HP Stream 11 screams basic, but that may be what HP is trying to deliver in the first place. It has 2GB of RAM and a measly 32GB of internal storage. It does have an SD card slot, and ports are decent enough especially since the you won’t be able to do anything of the hardcore-type with this machine anyway. What you will get are one USB 2.0 port, one USB 3.0 port, and one HDMI port.
Design-wise, the HP Stream 11 Laptop is one cute little machine. It is available in two colors, them being “horizon blue: and “orchid magenta.” While professionals may want to steer clear from the device right from the onset because of its choice of colors, kids might think otherwise. It takes on a bold and friendly design that is just right for kids (and possibly for the kids at heart).
It is predominantly made out of plastic and it is quite soft to the touch. There is the company’s logo found on the lid which is cut from a shiny piece of silver metal. There are four rubber feet that sit underneath the device to stop the PC from sliding around when placed on table tops.
From its design, it certainly lacks the elegance that many laptops are aiming for, but it does lean more towards the fun and visually pleasing side. This is a welcoming variety unless you’re a fan of the dull silver and gray motif from other laptops.
While its hardware and software offerings are pretty much on the low-end, what sets this laptop apart from the rest is its astounding battery life. It can deliver up to 8-hours and 15-minutes of battery life before it needs to be recharged again, and this is with continuous use. It can also charge really fast as well, offering 100-percent in just under two hours of charging.
For students who are on a tight budget and wants to get their schoolwork done properly, the HP Stream 11 is a solid option. You might have to deal with its really low storage space, but you’re not supposed to do anything drastic with this machine either.
