The Creative Sound Blaster Roar 2 is probably the idea of a challenge. What’s the challenge, you ask? Take everything from its predecessor and put it into a new chassis that’s 20-percent smaller than the original. This second iteration still has the five drivers, the 6,000mAh battery cell, the built-in microphone, and the SD card slot. The best part is, it’s done in such a way that the sound quality has not been degraded.
The Creative Sound Blaster Roar 2 is a Lot Smaller Than the Original But it Does Not Compromise Audio Quality
One way or another, the Creative Sound Blaster Roar 2 has been conceived to be as powerful as the original but with a very compact nature. It is now also made lighter but slightly more expensive that is predecessor.
Aside from the reduced chassis, the Sound Blaster Roar 2 has subtle tweaks rather than major refinements. But the elements that have been changed were updated for the better. For instance, if you lay the speaker down, you will be able to spot an aluminum front with the familiar Creative logo found at its center. The speaker is also available in black or in white.
On its top side, there’s a grille that keeps the three drivers safe and sound. This portion of the speaker also holds a series of control buttons that will allow the device to turn on and off, pair it to a Bluetooth compatible device, or raise/lower the volume. Users will also be able to find the NFC chip under the top right corner. With the NFC chip, you can use it with any NFC-equipped smartphone for rapid pairing.
When it comes to audio performance, just about every track that you let play on this compact speaker will let have good audio signatures. The speaker is able to deliver uncompromising audio despite its very portable architecture. Audio does not even warp or distort at the highest volume levels. Therefore, this can easily be in the running for the best-sounding Bluetooth speakers in today’s market.
The Roar 2 is best used inside a small to medium-sized room. For smaller rooms, the volumes can be too big. Even with its booming volumes, Creative covers the entire audio spectrum quite well with this device. It particularly does a very good job in pronouncing mids.
The Creative Sound Blaster Roar 2 is a definite improvement to its predecessor. It is lighter and more storage-friendly than the first iteration. It produces stellar sound signatures and dishes out a respectable amount of volume to boot.
