Yes, you’ve read that title right; the Rufus Cuff will be the first tablet that you can wear on your wrist. But it’s way more than just your ordinary smartwatch, as it gives plenty of features that a smartphone or tablet may have, without the smartphone or tablet. At first glance, it looks very well like an oversized smartwatch, but again, it isn’t. It features a 3.2-inch touchscreen and promises to be more than just your average wearable tech.
Join the Wrist Revolution With the Rufus Cuff
Rufus Labs, the company behind the Rufus Cuff, says the device marks the end of the ear of the watch. It will usher in a new age of wrist communication. If you are a proud fan of the more modest size of the smartwatch, then you would immediately think that this gadget is absolutely ridiculous. But when you think about its offerings, the size will only come second.
It features a TI Cortex A9 processor, a front-facing camera to take selfies, pictures, or even do video calls with, Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS, and has a 1,175mAh battery cell. Even though you can use your iPhone or Android device to take and receive calls, the wrist-tablet (if that’s what you want to call it) has a built-in speakers and dual microphones to do calls on its own. But for those who want to connect calls through the device, it can still handle that through Bluetooth support technology. As for the operating system, the wearable tech is powered with Android Kit Kat right out of the box.
The Rufus Cuff wearable tablet also has an accelerometer, a compass, and a Gyroscope, which means that the device will also appeal to fitness enthusiasts. As it is also powered by Android, it will be compatible with a lot, or even most fitness apps in Google Play.
As per Gabe Grifoni, the co-founder and CEO of Rufus Labs, the wearable tech will appeal to a lot of people. As he stated in a recent interview, “It’s not just a glorified notification center, we eventually see everyone ditching their phones.” The company believes that their device will eventually replace the need for wallets, watches, fitness trackers, and smartphones. This may be an exaggerated statement, but you can’t blame the guy for being confident as their company has brought such a great innovation to the tech industry.
For those interested in getting the Rufus Cuff, you can get a model with 16, 32, or 64GB of internal storage. Rufus Labs is now calling everyone to join the “Wrist Revolution.”
