Announcement has been made by the car maker Daimler that it will team up with Qualcomm Inc a mobile technologies company to delve into recharging mobile phones minus the wire inside a car and not just that these two companies is also set to pore over wireless charging of electric cars.
IT IS NOT JUST DAIMLER
Daimler the parent company of Mercedes-Benz along with its competitors in the field, car makers like BMW and Audi are also stepping forward to nail the next car from their own companies as they ready to shape and to maintain its status of being the high-tech car makers.
On the other hand, this is a significant ramp for Daimler as this will nevertheless strengthen its prominence, as the world moves forward where software and telecommunications plays a vital role. Car makers dimmed that this is one of the most important factor to earn revenue and profit as consumers are becoming more and more reliant with connectivity.
Daimler and Qualcomm in a collective statement said they were assessing the application of wireless technology to charge their electric vehicles (EV) and plug-in hybrid EVs without ever having to plug them in.
NOT LIMITED TO WIRELESS CHARGING
The collaboration of these companies is not just to able wireless charging of mobile phones inside the car while you are driving but the partnership is also set to explore more technologies like but not limited to high-speed 3G/4G to enhance in-car connectivity experience.
DAIMLER’S STATEMENT
In line with this Daimler’s board member for research and development Thomas Weber, said in a statement that, “It’s important that we remain on the cutting edge of technology and continue to deliver unparalleled experiences to our customers.”
He also added that, “With this in mind, we are eager to jointly explore possible fields of future cooperation with an internationally leading tech firm like Qualcom.”
