4GEE Capture Cam Review – The New Live Streaming Camera is Smaller, Lighter, and Wallet-Friendly

The GoPro line now has another competitor in the form of the 4GEE Capture Cam. This action camera has the title of the “world’s first wearable 4G streaming camera.” It is a smaller, and lighter version than its rugged predecessor. It is aimed for more casual user rather than those who have overly active lifestyles. However, it is not solely made for the consumer market as EE is also highlighting this product for business users as well.

4GEE Capture Cam Review - The New Live Streaming Camera is Smaller, Lighter, and Wallet-Friendly

The 4GEE Capture Cam is the World’s First Wearable 4G Streaming Camera

The 4GEE Capture Cam is the “World’s First Wearable 4G Streaming Camera,” but in order to avail of the feature, there will be a Pay Monthly data plan that needs to be covered. Arriving to the market just in time for Christmas, this could be a hit for the festive season IF the price is right. Otherwise, if this will come with a hefty price tag, then it may be too difficult to sell to the general public.

As for the design of the 4GEE Capture Camera, it looks just like a the Instagram logo (see it yet?). It is a tiny, rounded block that fits nicely in the palm. It has a rubberized exterior that feels rugged and sturdy. Also, it only weighs a mere 90-grams. You can happily just place it inside your pocket without worry of letting it pull down your pants.

The main attraction on the front of the camera is, of course, the camera sensor. The control are located on the top of this tiny device. There is a centralized shutter button which has different colored flashes. This will depend on the mode that the camera is currently in. If the flash is colored pink/purple, then it lets you know you’re currently live streaming. If you press the shutter button twice, it will give you a battery update. Telling the current battery-life is simple as it will flash green, orange, or red.

On one side of the camera, there’s the a signal indicator, while on the other side is a toggle switch that allows users to select the option of using the capture camera in either video or photo mode. The camera’s imaging sensor allows it to take pretty decent 8-megapixel images. At the base, there is a flag that hides the SIM port, a microUSB charging port, and a microSD slot.

The 4GEE Capture Cam is able to expand its storage for up to 64GB in size. With the expandable storage, compact design, ability to take still pictures, and the function of being able to work with GoPro mounts, this is a great alternative for the higher-priced GoPro. However, live-streaming may not be an option for everyone since it does amount to extra charges.
