2015 Jeep Renegade Longitude Review – City Friendly With a Tactical Feel

The 2015 Jeep Renegade Longitude pays homage to the original design of the jeep. However, don’t let its exteriors fool you, as this is not the go-anywhere off-roader type it appears to be. Even though there is a Trailhawk edition that can take you to rough roads, but the majority of the Renegades will only be a two wheel-drive city-friendly model. To which, it is more suitable for a drive to the mall than a mountain trail.

2015 Jeep Renegade Longitude Review - City Friendly With a Tactical Feel

The 2015 Jeep Renegade Longitude is a City-Friendly Vehicle Despite Its Looks

Even though the 2015 Jeep Renegade Longitude is made to be driven around the city than off-road, this is not necessarily a bad thing. New breeds of jeeps are not more civilized than their predecessors. This makes it appeal to a larger market, especially those who want large vehicles but spend most of their time around the city.

The new Renegade Longitude may have a design that is a departure to the regular Jeep DNA, but its look plays heavily on the company’s heritage. For instance, its cabin has full of nostalgic reminders about the vehicle’s history. There are the logos found on the seats of the car, and the Jeep grille motif can still be clearly seen on the center console.

As for the cabin of the 2015 Renegade Longitude, it is a mix of functional details. There are funky colors all around, and just about everything is made from modern materials. There is a grab handle found on the dash on the passenger’s side, while the seat cover looks durable.

The car manufacturer says that the design of the Renegade’s interior is heavily inspired by extreme sports gear. Hence, there is a tactical feel to it; some might even say this is the Swiss Army knife of vehicles. This notion extends to the twin sunroofs which can be detached and stowed in the rear storage area. This is for those who would like an open air feel to their Jeep.

On the road, this vehicle uses a joint Flat-Chrysler platform. This means that it pretty much drives like a Jeep would, but its driving performance is that of like a hatchback. Even though it has its off-roader design, it is able to sit closely to the ground which is comparable to some sedans. This pays the dividends on the bitumen as it leans less on corners.

The 2015 Jeep Renegade Longitude is a good car that has more character than a lot of its rivals. It has a solid feel to it even though it is primarily made for city driving instead of off-road circuits.
