The ZTE Grand X Max 2 is a smartphone that is larger than most, and it is coming to Cricket Wireless, which is AT&T’s low-cost carrier division. It is the successor to the mid-range handset, the Grand X Max+. It retains the same 6-inch screen size but has an updated hardware as well as it comes with the latest Android software right off the bat. It also has a unique dual rear-facing snappers as well as a revamped design. This makes it a more compelling addition to Cricket’s lineup of affordable mobile phones, or rather it should be placed in the category of phablets.
The ZTE Grand X Max 2 is the Successor to the Grand X Max+
The ZTE Grand X Max 2 lives up to its name by being one of the large ones in the mobile industry. It comes in with measurements of 6.46 x 3.3 x 0.35-inches for its dimensions and it weighs 6.31-ounces. There is a row of backlit capacitive buttons that are found along the bottom of its screen. Furthermore, it comes in with roughly the same dimensions of its predecessor, the Grand X Max+, which has measurements of 6.38 x 3.27 x 0.31-inches and it has a weight of 6.07-ounces.
The Max+ was quite unwieldly when holding it with one hand, so you would expect the same with regards to the Max 2. This time around, however, it is made with a more premium look as it has a metal frame along the side which binds together the two panes of glass.
Aside from the external changes, there is also a more beefed up screen resolution. On the Max+ it was 720p but this time around it jumps to 1,920 x 1,080 for its successor. This comes as a welcoming improvement indeed especially with a device with a 6-inch display. There is also an increase in pixel density which results in sharper texts as well as crisper images.
On the inside of the ZTE Grand X Max 2, hardware is also beefed up with a newer, and more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor is clocked in at 1.5GHz. This is also a large leap from the previous Snapdragon 400. With this newer processing unit, it is the same as what you can find on current generation of mid-ranged smartphones such as the HTC One A9 and the LG G Vista 2. It also comes with 2GB of RAM, a microSD card for expanding the storage to up to 64GB, and 16GB of internal storage space.
