If you are looking to purchase the GoPro Hero4 Black, but can’t just get to deal with the hefty price tag, then the ISAW Edge is a more budget-friendly alternative. It is a new breed of action cameras that takes the best out of what has gone with other previous models (even from other action cam manufacturers), and offers a solid design, features, and performance, all for a more decent price package.
The ISAW Edge is a Low Price Alternative to the GoPro Hero4 Black
The ISAW Edge is wrapped around with a waterproof housing, which is a standard for just about any action cam. Said exterior enables the camera to dive to a depth of up to 40-kilometers. The quality of this case is certainly better than other budget-friendly action cameras in today’s market. It has good seals on the rear, which ensures that no moisture will be able to enter the enclosure. The compression lever lock will let users hear a satisfying “snap” when closed, but still takes very little effort to re-open.
Once released from its housing, the ISAW Edge Action Cam is indeed a small camera. It is almost identical to the GoPro Hero4 Black in terms of size and weight. However, the button layout of the Edge is different from its higher-priced competitor.
On the side of the edge, there are three ports – one for a microSD card, one for a USB connection, and one for HD. The base of the camera holds a battery slot which will hold the small 3.7v 1,000mAh battery cell. The images and videos are captured with a 16-megapixel Sony Exmore CMOS imaging sensor within the camera.
When it comes to video quality, it is handled automatically by the camera itself, and again, this is common to action cameras. However, what sets the Edge apart from others of its type is that there is an option called MyTune. This gives greater control for the quality of the images that are being captured by the device.
With MyTune, it enables users to adjust the Exposure, Metering, White Balance, Sensitivity, and Sharpness of the footage. These options will appeal even to beginners and advanced users alike to fine-tune the quality of the images they’re capturing.
The ISAW Edge can capture videos of up to 1,080p at 50fps PAL. It does have the capability of capturing 4K videos, but the frame rate drops down to a measly 10fps. Furthermore, the camera has an average battery-life of 80 minutes on a single full-charge. Overall, this is a great alternative as compared to other action cameras located at the high-end markets.
