Xperia Z4v phone is a smartphone by Sony exclusive with Verizon Wireless. The target of this flagship smartphone is mainly the US market. The primary selling point of the Xperia Z4v phone is its capabilities to stream and remotely play PlayStation 4 games. Sony is definitely here to play with its newest handset a gamer focused Xperia Z4v phone.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT

The flashy presentation of Sony for the E3 video game conference was then followed by the official announcement of the company about the Z4v, and not just that the device also has a sibling which is called Xperiz Z3v smartphone. The latter will be highlighted at the Sony booth.

THE US MARKET

The US smartphone market is already full of other handsets which are produced by other popular, dominant and leading phone makers. Sony should acknowledge this because no matter how good your product is if no one knows about it certainly no one will also buy it. Therefore the company should focus on this one articular disadvantage.

Pertaining to the US market where Sony wants to breaks in, Avi Greengart, who covers consumer electronics for Current Analysis, said that, “Most US consumers either don’t know or don’t care that Sony makes phones.”

Despite how premium the quality of the new Z4v, from a super sharp display to an enhanced 20.7-megapixel snapper if no one knows about it, nonetheless no one will throw interest on it.

This is perhaps the reason why Sony’s smartphones even if it is built of high-premium class it is still two step away from the rivals in the field of mobile handset particularly in the US market.

There were even rounds of speculations that the Japanese conglomerate would shed the business altogether because the company’s mobile prospects are in the dark. However, during the Mobile World Congress last March, Sony CEO Kaz Hirai had to reaffirm his company’s commitment to the business.

“Sony Mobile is here to play and here to stay,” said Ravi Nookala, president of Sony’s US mobile unit.
