Sennheiser PMX-686G Sport Review – Has the Looks and Sound, Not Much About the Comfort

When it comes to looking for a good looking pair of headphones that are fit to become your jogging partner, then you might want to consider the Sennheiser PMX-686G Sport. It is a well-designed pair of headphones that is made for the intention of letting you listen to your favorite tunes as you jog across town during your morning runs. While it does look good, it is not a hardcore audio performer. In fact, it fails in a lot of aspects.

Sennheiser PMX-686G Sport Review - Has the Looks and Sound, Not Much About the Comfort

The Sennheiser PMX-686G Sport is a Head Turner, But Much Can be Said About the Comfort

The Sennheiser PMX-686G Sport is aimed at fitness enthusiasts who can’t press on with their workout regiment without listening to their favorite music. The company’s Sport series of earphones have all been about the looks and the famous sound signature that Sennheiser provides for their devices.

Right out of the box, the PMX-686G Sport headphones is colored in a neon green design. It drives away from the mundane design that other fitness-aimed headphones in the market would have. While the color will work for some, there are other that would not like it, especially for the style-conscious. Still, the color does make the device stand out as it is bright, and keeps the sporty feel alive.

For the main neckband and earpieces, they are in a tri-color band – light gray, dark, and with the neon green sandwiched in the middle. The material that was used to make the pair of headphones seems strong, but not top-notch quality. Furthermore, the unconventional style for the PMX-686G will turn heads, but it will take some getting used to as it is not as comfortable when you wear it the first time. It’s like wearing eyeglasses for the first time, but for the ears (you get the idea).

Unlike other known devices from Sennheiser, the PMX-686G offers regular performance. Sound quality is just average. It is not the finest headphone that you can find in the market, but it works. While the neckband is not intrusive, it does make you a bit conscious of wearing the headphone around your neck. The good thing about its architecture is that you will not need to readjust them as they stay securely in place.

The Sennheiser PMX-686G Sport is great as a jogging partner as soon as you get passed that uncomfortable feel. It has good volume but does not offer much in terms of sound quality.
